Watching Ciao! Manhattan
is so depressing. Being aware of Edie Sedgwick’s drug addiction, mental health issues, and her obvious eating disorder…it’s hard to enjoy watching a film of someone who foreshadowed her own downfall while living it.
And I just found out that she was let out of a mental hospital to film a few scenes and was driven back after her shock treatment scene for the actual…procedure. =/

Watching Black Venus (Saartjie Baartman’s Story)…I am incredibly disturbed and disgusted with the objectification in the first scene. The sad part is that this is most likely an accurate portrayal of what happened. :(
